So I've been a fan of the Buddha bar chill out movement ever since I could remember. So I just had to visit this place. Plus the ambience and music is super laid back and chill (hence Buddha bar) so it was a great way to end a night of walking and exploring.
The drinks were good but not out of this world fantastic for the price.
The food wasn't spectacular but it had a decent menu with a nice combination of your typical go to Asian dishes with some unique plates thrown in if you care to be a foodie.
For me, rice , meat and some sort of sauce will do the job and they had just that. My girlfriends fish dish was spectacular according to her so that's a plus.
Honestly, 4 stars because I think you honestly come here for the collective experience. In NYC where I'm from, we have plenty of these dark, erotic , zen like lounges that usually get wild at night. I like Buddha bar because it's true to the name ...keep it zen! Enjoy your cocktail. Relish your plate. Do it all under an exotic ambience as a way to kick off or end the night but in a less rowdy way.
Would I be back? Probably. Or maybe check out the other Buddha bars across the globe. Either way it's not a disappointment. -

Buddha-Bar is a multi-level establishment with the lower level being the restaurant with a lot of table seating and an upper level with a bar overlooking the restaurant. I came here with some friends on a weeknight purely for drinks. Although it was slightly crowded we were able to walk in without a reservation and find one of the few remaining bar area tables. When you first enter you'll notice that it's dimly lit, there's Asian influenced decor spread about, and there's a giant 2 story tall Buddha statue in the middle of the restaurant. It kind of reminded me of Tao in Las Vegas. Just not as dirty and not as noisy.
As far as I could tell, they pretty much have a full bar. There is a selection of pretty standard cocktails on the menu but I found the bartenders weren't familiar with some less mainstream but still relatively well known cocktails. After unsuccessfully trying to order a few, we ended up resorting to ordering a few bottles of wine. It is France after all!
Overall, we all had a great time as Buddah-Bar is a good place to chill and have some drinks with friends. The noise level isn't too bad and you can actually just sit back and have conversations. However, drinks aren't cheap with a single cocktail averaging about 16 Euro. Also, if you are looking for very specific cocktails, this may not be the place. -

We decided to stop by here for drinks and really didn't have any issues getting in. It was a little early and it was starting to get full with dinner service. The ambiance here is pretty cool, especially the large Buddha statue.
Our party just went to the upstairs bar and sat on some couches while having drinks. The bartenders were pretty friendly and spoke English well. Drinks are pretty pricey but not unexpected considering this is a very touristy spot in Paris. The drink menu does have a pretty good selection of crafted cocktails.
We had a good time and enjoyed our drinks but it was a little too chill for me. I would have preferred for the ambiance to be a little crazier but perhaps we were a bit early for the festivities. It's definitely worth a stop in for a drink if you are in the area. -

We had a reservation for 9pm but got there an hour early and got seated right away. Loved the setting, the sushi was delicious, try the French kiss cocktail-really strong! Our waitress spoke great English. Minus a star because we were getting over charged and when I brought it up to the waitress she seemed annoyed. Besides that we really enjoyed!

On a recent work trip to Monte Carlo some colleagues and I visited the Buddha Bar for a quick late night cocktail ... upon arrival we were intrigued by the sultry decor & vibrant sounds ... once inside the bigger than life Bush's that anchored the bar lounge seemed to speak to each individual as if to say " yuh are under my spell now " .. the fashion and people watching were worth the price of the cocktails. I'd dare say you wouldn't go here for the food as it was average and pricey ... the scenery however was entertaining and lavish and certainly indicative of its reputation ! Definitely worth the visit !
